Where The Wild Things Are | Columbus Family Photographer

Anyone with a toddler will tell you that these are the moments you treasure. Those quiet times with your kids, snuggled in bed with your pajamas on, reading a book. The calm before the storm. The rare, still peaceful moments when the constant blur of preschool exuberance is stilled by words on the page. The covers always seem extra warm, and even with the sun peeking through, it is tempting to stay there all day.

But of course you can’t. Your wild things will eventually want to get up. And then, if you are lucky, they might slow down just long enough to give you that look. You know, that one that melts your heart? The one that looks a lot like this:

But, they are wild things after all, so then they will be up and running again. And laughing and giggling, and tickling. I love the look on Gwen’s face here.  I just adore that look of pride in her smile. Because- hey- you made them, and they are pretty amazing! It is a look that says- this right here is the good stuff. This right here is what I want to remember.

Amy + Baby-to-Be!

Meet Amy, the final Hot Momma in the casting call! Amy and her husband, Rich, are expecting a baby boy in October, who will be greated by his big sister, Stella!

Amy has the most perfect, round baby bump I have ever seen! Pregnancy definetly suits her- she was glowing and gorgeous and so much fun to work with.

I can’t wait to meet the newest addition to this beautiful family in October!

Erin + Rowan + Babies(!)-to-Be!

Meet Erin, the fourth Hot Momma from the casting call! Erin and her husband, Scot, are expecting twins in October. A boy and a girl, who will be greated by their big brother, Rowan, who just celebrated his first birthday!

Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley was the perfect place to showcase Erin’s natural glow. She looked so gorgeous in the green paisley dress that belonged to her mother. As soon as she told me what she was planning to wear- I was so excited! I love clothing that tells a story like that.

Rowan had celebrated his birthday the day before, and was very excited to show off his new skill to me- walking! Actually, I think he is already running. I had a great time chasing him around and watching him explore his new-found independence.

I can’t wait to meet the newest additions to this fabulously fun family in October!

Kelly + Jeff + Baby-to-Be!

Meet Kelly, the third Hot Momma from the Casting Call! Kelly and her husband Jeff are expecting a baby girl in August!

When I walked in to the nursery, I felt like I was in a dream. The walls are a creamy shade of light green, and there is a butterfly mobile hanging from the ceiling that flutters ever so slightly when you walk by. Kelly was as beautiful and serene as the room, and you can tell that motherhood just suits her.

It is always magical to see a momma-to-be gazing at her perfect bump, and this was no exception. I even got to see Jeff’s face when he felt the baby kick, and I can tell you that already this is Daddy’s Little Girl. I am looking forward to meeting her next month, and I can’t wait to hear what name Jeff and Kelly decide on!

Hannah + Chad + Baby-to-Be!

Meet Hannah, the second Hot Momma from the Casting Call! Hannah and her husband, Chad, are expecting a baby girl in August. A baby girl who, if I do say so myself, has the cutest nursery ever!

Hannah thought of every detail, and the minute I walked in to the gorgeous blue nursery, I never wanted to leave. The only thing more beautiful than the nursery was Hannah herself- she is a glowingly perfect momma-to-be!

I loved seeing Chad and Hannah interact. You can just feel the love they have for each other and for their little girl. I am so excited for them to get to meet her next month. They are going to be fabulous parents!

Meet Erin- the first Hot Momma from the Casting Call! Erin designs fab custom invitations and stationery,and she and her husband, Josh, are expecting a baby girl in August.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in to Josh and Erin’s house was their fabulous sense of style. Everything in their house is so individual and fun and fresh. The next thing I noticed was Erin’s adorable baby bump! It is absolutely perfect and she just radiates that gorgeous momma-to-be glow. It is easy to see that Erin and Josh are going to make great parents, and I can’t wait to meet their baby girl next month!
